Green Communities Canada seeks a Director of Business Development

Green Communities Canada seeks a Director of Business Development to help us capitalize on ever-expanding opportunities to grow and improve our programs. GCC is a national association of non-profit organizations that deliver innovative, practical environmental solutions to Canadian households and communities. This is a new position. We are offering an initial one-year contract, which is expected to lead to permanent employment.

Salary to be negotiated.

The successful candidate will be highly entrepreneurial, with excellent skills in business planning and development, proposal-writing, presentations, relationship-building, and deal-making. We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for delivering environmental programs and services that promote personal action and community change. Knowledge of environmental matters and Green Communities a strong asset. Bilingualism a bonus.

The Director of Development will work as a member of a dynamic team that includes GCC staff and member organizations, and must be available for frequent meetings at the Peterborough headquarters of Green Communities Canada, as well as meetings in Toronto, Ottawa, and elsewhere as required.

Activities will include business planning, strategy development, business development, partnership development,

and proposal development for government and foundation requests. All areas of Green Communities work are likely to be involved, including our programs in the areas of walking and sustainable transportation, water protection, and home energy, as well organizational capacity development and efforts to expand the Green Communities network and partnerships across Canada. Priorities and a workplan will be established.

This position reports to the Executive Director.
